Dr. Peralta is a board-certified ophthalmologist, fellowship-trained in vitreo-retinal disorders and a Fellow of the International Council of Ophthalmology (FICO).
Dr. Peralta received his subspecialty training in vitreo-retinal disorders at Louisiana State University Eye Center (LSU) in New Orleans, LA and an additional fellowship in research and management of macular diseases at Tulane University under the direction of distinguished professor Dr. Gholam Peyman. Dr.Peralta completed his residency in ophthalmology at the prestigious Francisco Marroquin University in Guatemala City. There he participated in multiple surgical campaigns to help deprived people through Lions Club International.
Dr. Peralta has practiced in the greater St. Louis, Missouri and Illinois for 14 years. He has been involved in research of age-related macular degeneration and complex vitreo-retinal disorders. He has made presentations on retinal disorders at local seminars. Dr. Peralta is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS), St. Louis Opthalmological Society and the Panamerican Association of Ophthalmology (PAAO).
