Dr. Ullrich is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Cornea subspecialist.
Dr. Ullrich earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from William Jewell College in Liberty, MO followed by attending the Kansas City School of Medicine and Biosciences achieving his Doctor of Osteopathy. After his Internal Medicine Internship at St. Mary’s Hospital in Clayton, MO, Dr. Ullrich served three years as the First Infantry Division Flight Surgeon at Fort Riley, KS. Dr. Ullrich was decorated with not only flight wings, but also honored as the 1995 Flight Surgeon of the Year for the United States Medical Department Activity.
After his military service, Dr. Ullrich completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Kansas University Medical Center followed by a fellowship in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery with Richard Eiferman, MD in Louisville, KY.
Dr. Ullrich has been in private practice since summer of 2000, initially in the metro east area and now in greater St. Louis since 2005. He was honored as a top Lasik surgeon by VISX and continues to specialize in both premium and routine cataract surgery as well as refractive surgery. Dr. Ullrich is a fellow in the American College of Surgeons, a past president and current board member of the St. Louis Ophthalmology Society and is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and the American Association of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Ullrich was born and raised in Crestwood, Missouri and currently resides In Eureka, MO with his wife Mary of over 30 years. He has two sons, David (wife Kendra) and Sean.
Dr. Ullrich enjoys hiking with his wife, cycling, barbecuing on his smoker, and is an avid fan of the Cardinals, Blues, and Missouri Tigers.
